Old or Oil
14.7.11If you are looking at these images and saying, "Wow, these photos are so cool", you will need to read my next statement twice. Before you is the carefully crafted work of contemporary realism artist, Christoper Stott. They are not old photos, they are still life paintings; oil paintings. Stott recently returned from a successful trip to California, where a number of these works were on display at the Elliott Fouts Gallery. I stumbled across them on Design Sponge, but I have no doubt that they will continue to circulate online for some time. The Canadian artist is home working on his next big thing, and I absolutely cannot wait to see what he creates. You can also find him on his blog, where he posts regular updates.

ReplyDeletegros bisous.
I so appreciate artists who dedicate to hyper-realism, creating works that one cannot tell at first glance if real or not, and view like a photograph. One has to have a lot of patience for such work. I am familiar with Chris's work, nice to see it here.
ReplyDeleteHope you are doing well.
